The question

Diagram 3 shows the mapping of two functions, where w is a constant: x --(q)--> x/w --(p)--> (3x + 2)/2. It is given that p⁻¹: x -> (x - 1)/v, where v is a constant. Express v in terms of w.

Watch out: subtract 1 from the whole fraction (3x + 2)/2, writing 1 as 2/2, so the +2 cancels and you can isolate v.
