Table 2 shows the distribution of scores obtained by a group of students in a competition. (a) State the minimum value of x if the mode score is 4. (b) Find the mean score of the distribution if x = 1.

The mode is the score with the highest frequency. The frequencies are 3, 6, 7, x, 1 for scores 1 to 5.
